Indeed, currently in the pro Mobile Legends scene, Malaysia and the Philippines are arguably the most different. However, their meta is less effective outside of MPL MY. In contrast to MPL PH where it appeared strange meta-meta and it didn’t take long for other MPL to imitate and proved to be very strong.

Malaysia players often use strange picks. If you watched MPL MY last season, there were heroes like Miya, Fanny, and Layla that were used by them and were quite effective.

Their uniqueness in Malaysia is that they are brave in choosing heroes. For example, Todak, I really like to use Miya since I was training. They wear it until Rafaela sidelane because she can wear it.

Malaysia positively is very willing to take risks. But the downside is sometimes it’s overused.

Swordsman and Geek Fam often use odd picks as well as weird playstyles. Even Amoux also claimed to be successful in using 2 retries when scrim with other teams.

But indeed being too bold can be a bad thing. The high risk of anti-meta like the Malaysian team sometimes backfires on their match results. But this can be a good thing to develop a different style of play from them.
